Registration for the 3rd edition of Varso Tower Run opens

March 24, 2024

Sports amateurs and professional athletes will once again face the steps of the tallest building in the European Union. Today from 2:00 PM runners can register in the Varso Tower Run challenge, which this year will take place on May 25. The finish line on the rooftop is twice as high as the observation deck of the Palace of Culture and Science. The record holder climbed the stairs to a height of 230 meters in 6 minutes and 45 seconds.

Runners have to climb almost 1,400 stairs leading to the 53rd floor of a skyscraper in the Warsaw city center. This unusual challenge has so far been undertaken by approximately 1,300 daredevils who visited the Varso Tower during previous editions of the competition. Last year, the Japanese representatives won both men's and women's races. The current record is 6 minutes and 45 seconds for men and 9 minutes and 14 seconds for women.

Varso Tower

Towerrunning is a permanent element of sporting events in Warsaw.

Year by year, more people and employees of companies whose offices are located in Varso Tower tell us they want to take part. This year we expect about 800 participants. Until the viewing terrace is scheduled to open for tourists in 2025, Varso Tower Run is one of the few opportunities to admire the views from the skyscraper’s rooftop, both for debutants and runners who wish to improve their previous result

– says Katarzyna Najdzik, President of the HB Reavis Foundation in Poland.

In addition to its sports theme, the event also has a charitable dimension. The owner and manager of the building supports people affected by the war in Ukraine. So far, the HB Reavis Foundation has donated a total of 80 000 zł to the Polish Humanitarian Action. This year, the event organizers will make a donation of 50 000 zł to aid this noble cause.

Apart from the satisfaction of conquering the tallest building in the European Union, an additional reward for participants will be its breathtaking views of the Warsaw skyline. Each runner will receive a finisher’s medal, a commemorative T-shirt and water at the finish line. The best runners will receive financial and material prizes as well as points towards the Towerrunning World Association ranking. Registration for the competition, open to all adults, starts on March 21 at 2:00 PM on the website: www.wbiegnijnavarso.pl.

The strategic sponsor of the event organized by HB Reavis is Bank Pekao S.A. The sponsors also include the CMS law firm and PZU Zdrowie, and the event partners are NYX Hotel Warsaw, CIC Warsaw and Zdrofit fitness clubs.
